How to get more reviews online
Most stone shops have a website and at some point many have hired a marketing agency to help them get more customers. Yet many stone shop owners still can’t tell me which part of their company’s online presence really helps build their business.
Well, most times it comes down to online reviews. If you have too few of them, prospects will think your business isn’t established and doesn’t have a proven track record. Even if all your reviews are great, if you only have five of them and your competitor has 40, people will likely go with your competitor instead.
People not only trust positive reviews, they also trust the volume of reviews.
How do you get more positive reviews quickly and efficiently?
I have a hack for you that provides a quick solution when you need it. If you do this, you will see results in a short period of time ranging from three to six months. If you don’t do this but your competitors do, you will be worse off because you will start getting even fewer jobs.
So here’s what you do to get more reviews in short order:
Moving forward, add a line in every contract agreement with your customers that, upon the job completion, they must leave you an online review on a platform of their choice be it Google, Yelp or Facebook. Just a quick review where they tell the world how good or how bad of a job you guys have done.
If a customer says no – that he/she doesn’t write online reviews, explain that your business relies on it and make it a sticking point. Because for every one customer who leaves a review, you can get another two or three contracts out of it or more. The more reviews you get the more customers you will get. It’s that simple.
Make sure that your field guys are actually not leaving homes until every one of those homeowners leaves a review for you. Even just a sentence or two makes a world of difference.
Track progress on your online profiles daily to determine if each paying customer has left you a review. If you notice that some of your field reps have gone out to complete jobs yet customers did not leave a review, you can follow up with your field rep and ask what happened. They have to stay until those reviews are done. Make it a habit for everyone on your team. Do this, and you will become a more prosperous stone shop owner.
